The Office of Research and Innovation is seeking interested staff and faculty to serve on the University Innovation Council beginning this fall.
The Innovation Council, which also includes student members, assists in running Marquette’s Explorer Challenge competition. The Explorer Challenge provides the opportunity for any member of the Marquette community (students, faculty and staff) to propose innovative ideas and projects that would help move the university’s Beyond Boundaries strategic plan forward. The Explorer Challenge is designed to encourage piloting of concepts with potential for impact on the university and/or the broader community and requires the integration of inclusive practices.
Serving on the council typically involves attending three meetings and two special events over the course of the academic year, as well as working together in small groups to review pre-proposals and final proposals.
More information is available online. Check out past awardees to see the breadth of ideas that have already been funded.
Those interested in serving or who have questions about this opportunity should contact Melody Baker in the Office of Research and Innovation.
