University Advancement surpasses FY22 fundraising goal, raises more than $117 million

The Marquette University Advancement team raised more than $117 million in new gifts and confirmed pledges in fiscal year 2022, surpassing its $90 million FY22 goal.

“Our passionate alumni, parents and friends continue to support our Catholic, Jesuit mission in remarkable ways,” said Vice President for University Advancement Tim McMahon. “We are immensely grateful for the generosity that resulted in more than $117 million in new gifts and confirmed pledges this fiscal year — one that stands as the second most funds raised within a fiscal year to date in university history.”

Marquette publicly launched Time to Rise: The Marquette Promise to Be The Difference — a $750 million comprehensive fundraising campaign — in April of 2021. The campaign is the most ambitious in Marquette’s 140-year history.

Now in year seven of the comprehensive campaign, Marquette has secured $588 million in new gifts and pledges through the end of FY22, or 78% toward our $750 million goal. More than 56,000 donors have made a gift during the campaign. In fiscal year 2022, 155 donors committed to gifts of $100,000 or greater. Of those donors, 26 contributed $1 million or more. This marks the highest number of 6-figure+ commitments in a one-year period during the campaign.

The campaign objectives are:

  1. Enriching and expanding student opportunities, with an emphasis on increasing access and scholarship support as well as elevating the student experience
  2. Supporting teacher-scholars
  3. Fostering university-wide innovation
  4. Transforming the campus environment
