The Artificial Intelligence for Analytics and Insights (Ai4Ai) Lounge is a new initiative on campus sponsored by the Diederich College of Communication and Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute (NMDSI).
The launch will take place on Friday, May 6, from 10 a.m. until noon in Sensenbrenner Hall 304. The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Victor Amaya, president and executive director of Data You Can Use, a local nonprofit organization that aims to leverage data to improve community conditions.
His talk will be followed by a panel of Marquette leadership and faculty which will focus on the role that universities play in community engagement and putting data analytics into a local context.
The schedule of events is:
- Welcome by Sarah Feldner, dean of the Diederich College of Communication, and Larry Zhiming Xu, assistant professor of strategic communication in the Diederich College of Communication, from 10 a.m. until 10:10 a.m.
- Amaya gives the keynote address from 10:10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
- Panel discussion with Amaya, Carmel Ruffolo, associate vice president for corporate engagement, Scott Rex, NMDSI co-director, and Larry Zhiming Xu, director, Ai4Ai Lounge from 11 a.m. until 11:40 a.m.
- Q&A from 11:40 a.m. until 11:55 a.m.
