In 2020-21, Marquette University was recognized as a First Gen Forward institution by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).
Joining the third cohort of NASPA First Scholars in 2021, members of the institution completed the First Scholars Insights Tool which provides a deep dive into how the institution programmatically serves first-generation students and how systemically prepared the institution is to advance efforts to further support first-generation students. Upon completion of the Insights Tool, Marquette received a robust report with recommendations.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a 50-minute virtual presentation of the findings of this report on Thursday, May 12, at 10 a.m. to learn more about NASPA First Gen Forward recognition. The presentation will be recorded and open to the faculty and staff of the Marquette community.
Presenters at the event:
- Katie McGowan Bucci, senior director for First Scholars
- Dr. Qua’Aisa Williams, associate director for Instructional Design
- Mary Fugate, associate director of Research and Analytics
