Fulbright Scholar Program info and alumni insight, April 6

An icon graphic representing Research in Action, from the Beyond Boundries Strategic PlanThe Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will host a virtual session on Wednesday, April 6, at 1 p.m. to discuss the Fulbright Scholar experience with two Marquette faculty members and Fulbright alumni, Dr. Richard Jones and Ryan Scoville. 

In 2018-2019, Jones, professor of social and cultural studies, received a Fulbright award to conduct research on formerly incarcerated persons re-entering society in Finland. That same year, Ryan Scoville, professor of law in the Law School, visited Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan, for research on Japanese understandings of U.S. foreign relations law. 

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program’s 2023-24 competition is currently open, featuring over 400 awards offered in more than 130 countries in all world regions. A brief overview of the application process and components will also be covered. Applications are due September 15.
