First-year and senior students asked to complete National Survey of Student Engagement

First-year and senior undergraduate students will receive an email on Monday, Feb.28, from President Lovell asking them to complete the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE).

The NSSE launches on Monday, Feb. 28, and runs through March. The survey collects information from first-year and senior students about their participation in activities and programs that promote learning and development. Marquette only administers this survey once every three years.

In addition to collecting information on Marquette student engagement, which is related to outcomes like retention, graduation and success after graduation, the survey results are returned with comparison data from students who took the survey at other universities, so we can see how well we’re serving our students compared to other universities.

Results from past years of the survey have been used to help us better understand situations that may lead to a student leaving Marquette before graduating as well as to inform the Student Success Initiative.

If you’re interested, check out the executive summary from the last time the survey was administered at Marquette in 2019. Other NSSE results can be found near the bottom of our Institutional Surveys page.
