Dr. William Cullinan giving webinar on brain science’s connection to free-throw shooting

Dr. William Cullinan, dean of the College of Health Sciences and director of Marquette’s Integrative Neuroscience Research Center, will give a lighthearted webinar on Jan. 26 discussing the implications from brain science on successful free-throw shooting in basketball. The webinar is hosted by Beyond MU: Lifelong Learning.

Cullinan will present the cases of two former Marquette men’s basketball players to illustrate extremes in motor styles. Subtopics such as muscle memory, priming and the effects of stress and anxiety on shooting success will also be covered. 

The webinar begins at noon and will be viewable via Zoom. Registration can be completed online.
