An update from Dr. Deirdre Dempsey, chair of the Dean of Libraries Search Committee

Dear Marquette community,

On behalf of all the members of the Search Committee, I am very happy to share the Opportunity and Challenge Profile for the Dean of Libraries position with you.

Many thanks to all of you who participated in the listening sessions hosted by the Search Committee! The insights gathered from these sessions form the basis of the Profile crafted by the Search Committee. The Profile lays out in some detail what the Marquette community believes are the opportunities and challenges awaiting the new Dean of Libraries.

We are at the very beginning of the process of seeking candidates for this position (initial screening of candidates will begin in January). Please share the Opportunity and Challenge Profile with your networks, and please nominate promising candidates using this link. You can find more information about the search process on the search website.

If you have any questions during this process, please email me at Deirdre.dempsey@marquette.edu. The Search Committee is committed to a transparent and inclusive process, clearly communicated to the Marquette community.

Dr. Deirdre Dempsey

Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies, Theology, and Chair of the Dean of Libraries Search Committee
