Professor contributes to national psychology guidelines around social media use

Dr. Timothy Melchert, professor of counselor education and counseling psychology in the College of Education, was chair of a work group that wrote the “Guidelines for the Optimal Use of Social Media in Professional Practice,” which provide guidance for psychologists and graduate students in the field on their use of social media in their professional and private lives. 

The document was recently approved as official policy by the American Psychological Association.
