Marquette offers prayers in wake of Waukesha parade tragedy

The Marquette University community is praying for the victims and all those affected by the tragedy Sunday evening at the Waukesha Christmas Parade. We know there are many students, faculty, staff and alumni who are from and live in Waukesha, and the Marquette family offers our support during this sad time.

We encourage members of our campus community to use our on-campus resources, including the Counseling Center and Campus Ministry for students, and the Employee Assistance Program and Faber Center for faculty and staff.

We also wish to express our gratitude to the first responders and medical personnel for their work to render aid and treat the victims, as well as the school officials and Waukesha-area resource workers for the many ways in which they are offering trauma-informed support to survivors.

Please join Rev. Jim Voiss, S.J., vice president for mission and ministry, in a prayer for the souls of those who lost their lives and that their families, friends and everyone affected begin to heal.
