Forward Thinking Research Symposium is Nov. 30

November 18, 2021

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) will host the “Forward Thinking Research Symposium” on Tuesday Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. in the AMU Ballrooms.

The event will showcase research from faculty members and students from all disciplines. Attendees will have the opportunity to share research ambitions and connect with fellow faculty and students from across the university.

Unlike traditional conferences, where researchers convey the results of work that has been completed, the Forward Thinking presentations focus on projects that will take place in the next 6–12 months.

The event will begin with a brief welcome and introduction. Then the presenters will present their project in one of two rooms set up in the AMU Ballrooms. Attendees will be able to see them in-person or via streaming on Teams. When the oral presentations are done, the event will wrap up with a reception, which includes tables hosted by some of Marquette’s centers and institutes, a list of curated funding opportunities and space to continue research conversation around the supplemental posters of our oral presenters.

Event agenda overview:

  • 1 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. | Welcome and Introduction
  • 1:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. | Oral Presentations (set up in 2 rooms in the AMU; streaming will be available)
  • 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. | Reception and Poster Presentation

Everyone interested in attending, either in-person or virtually should register via Eventbrite.

Teams meeting details for the oral presentations will be emailed to all registrants who are attending virtually prior to the event.
