Research in ACTION pilot program seeks faculty participation

Drs. Lucas Torres, professor of psychology and faculty fellow in the Office of Research and Innovation, and Jeanne Hossenlopp, vice president for research and innovation, have developed the Research in ACTION (Advancing Collaborative Teams: Inclusive Opportunities Network) pilot program. This program begins to address the recommendation from the Academic Planning Research Workgroup for the Vice President for Research and Innovation to “oversee the creation of a pipeline program to help develop research leaders who can supervise large scale projects.”

There will be two opportunities for faculty participation this year, a planning team involving faculty with experience in leading complex, large-scale research projects with multiple external partners or institutes; and a spring semester pilot program which will be open to any interested faculty member.

This program is anticipated to evolve as the Committee on Research develops final guidelines for creating Research Communities, and with input from this year’s participants.  Additional information about the 2021-22 pilot program can be found online

Those interested in joining the Research in ACTION planning team should complete this online form by Friday, Nov. 5. Planning meetings will be held in November or early December.

Those interested in the Research in ACTION pilot program during the spring semester should complete this online form by Friday, Nov. 5.
