Philosophy’s Friday Seminar Series continues Oct. 15 

The Philosophy Friday Seminar Series continues Friday, Oct. 15, with John Jones’s discussing the exploration of complex notions of poverty. 

The seminars take place Fridays from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Marquette Hall, 105.

  • Oct. 15: Rev. John Jones, will discuss the exploration of complex notions of poverty, basic needs and a living wage, as well as the implication for moral/ policy discourse 
  • Nov. 5: Dr. Javiera Perez Gomez: “Microaggressions, epistemic injustice, and self doubt”  
  • Nov. 12: Dr. Daniel Smith (University of Memphis): “A Critique of Royal Philosophy: Foucault on Political Historicism in the English Civil War” 
  • Nov. 19: Dr. Sebastian Luft: “Kant and Cassirer on Language” 

The seminar series will be held in-person, but those interested can also attend virtually. Light refreshments will be provided.
