The Institute for Women’s Leadership (IWL) and the Women’s Innovation Network (WIN) will launch their fall 2021 WISDOM Breakfast series on Friday, Oct. 29, at 9 a.m.
The series invites female and nonbinary panelists from a wide variety of disciplines in STEM and related Social, Behavioral, and Economic (SBE) science fields. For the first WISDOM Breakfast, the focus is women in biology and chemistry. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet panelists in small groups for open dialogue around the personal experiences of working in STEM and SBE fields, navigating the challenges of their respective fields and how to better prepare oneself to succeed in industry or academia upon graduation.
The panel of expert researchers includes:
- Dr. Michelle Hastings, Center for Genetic Diseases
- Dr. Megan Mayerle, Baxter Labs
- Dr. Rupa Udani, Medical College of Wisconsin
- Jennifer Dienes, U.S. International Trade Commission
- Dr. Caryn Peterson, University of Illinois Chicago
All graduate and undergraduate students are welcome to attend this event, along with faculty and community members who are interested in the STEM and SBE scientific fields. This will be a hybrid event; panelists will join virtually and attendees have an option to join in-person or virtually. Please specify your preference when registering.
