IWL SHINES, a new inclusive research series hosted by IWL, aims to shine a light on research conducted across campus from all community members: participating faculty of all ranks, graduate students, undergraduate students, tenure stream faculty, and staff.
This series pays special attention to research conducted by women and nonbinary people in all academic fields and nonacademic units on campus, as well as research conducted on gender-related issues. The series also has a special interest in profiling collaborative research projects, especially across categories (e.g., undergraduate students working with faculty, graduate students working with community partners or collaborations with faculty and students at other universities). Finally, the series understands “research” broadly to include public-facing scholarship, digital projects and more. IWL SHINES believes in making research conducted in all areas and units at Marquette visible.
If you or someone you know would be a good candidate to be profiled in this series, please send an email with the person’s/people’s name(s) to Dr. Melissa Shew, visiting associate professor of philosophy. Please provide a very brief description about the research involved and why you think it should be highlighted. After consideration, IWL will contact you and/or your nominee to start the interview process, which will entail the person or team providing brief written responses to different interview questions from a menu of choices.
