Sept. 28 is National Voter Registration Day

National Voter Registration Day will take place on Sept. 28, 2021. Be sure to visit the Marquette Votes website to learn if you are eligible to vote in Wisconsin and how to register to vote. If you registered to vote in previous elections but have moved since the last election you are required to register to vote at your new address.

Upcoming elections in the State of Wisconsin include the 2022 Spring Primary on Feb. 15, 2022.  The 2022 Wisconsin Spring Election is scheduled for April 5, 2022. Three seats of the Wisconsin Court of Appeals are up in this election, as well as various nonpartisan local and judicial offices. There is no Wisconsin Supreme Court election expected in 2022 unless there is a retirement by a current justice before Dec. 1, 2021.

The City of Milwaukee may call a special election for Mayor prior to the 2022 election dates as Mayor Barrett has been appointed to serve as Ambassador to Luxembourg and is expected to resign his current mayoral position upon confirmation by the U.S. Senate. Future Marquette Today posts will notify the Marquette community of a City of Milwaukee of a Special Election for Mayor so that eligible voters are able to participate in the electoral process as we encourage students to be civically engaged.
