Beyond MU: Lifelong Learning will host a webinar titled “The Science that Heals – Successful Aging Concerning Communication and Cognition” on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at noon. Register online.
Aging happens to us all, whether we want it to or not. However, even when we embrace the changes that come with aging, it can be hard to decide if something is just a new “normal” or if it is cause for concern. In this presentation, we will discuss common age-related changes in swallowing, hearing, language, and cognition. We will cover differences between healthy aging and changes due to illness or injury, and we will provide some tips so that you can keep fully participating in life.
The webinar will be presented by:
- Dr. William E. Cullinan, dean and professor, College of Health Sciences
- Dr. Emily Patterson, chair and clinical assistant professor, Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology
- Dr. Sarah Grace Dalton, assistant professor, Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology
- Heidi Ruedinger, clinical assistant professor, Department Speech Pathology and Audiology
