University requiring COVID-19 testing for employees who do not upload vaccine information by Aug. 30

Vaccination is a critical tool to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. As of Aug. 12, more than90%of Marquette students enrolled for fall 2021have submitted proof of vaccination for COVID-19 — our goal is for faculty and staff to meet or exceed that number. 

Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to upload proof of COVID-19 vaccine to the MU Patient Portal by midnight Aug. 30.  

IMPORTANT: Faculty and staff who do not upload proof of COVID-19 vaccine by Aug. 30 will be required to participate in mandatory COVID-19 testing, complete the daily COVID Cheq screening process, quarantine for 14 days if they came into close contact with someone infected with COVID-19, and follow all other university-wide protocols related to COVID-19 mitigation. Unvaccinated individuals should also follow CDC guidelines for unvaccinated individuals. 

Employees who upload—or have already uploaded—proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the MU Patient Portal by midnight on Aug. 30 will be automatically entered into a giveaway for the following prizes:  

  • One month of free campus parking 
  • Courtside seats to a Marquette University Men’s Basketball game  
  • Courtside seats to a Marquette University Women’s Basketball game 
  • $25 Marquette Cash Cards 
  • Marquette t-shirts 

To enter, simply upload your proof of COVID-19 vaccination via the MU Patient Portal OR complete an online entry form. View the  full giveaway rules. Giveaway winners will be contacted the week of Sept. 6. 

Uploading proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the MU Patient Portal takes less than five minutes: 

  1. Enter your vaccine dates under the “Immunizations” tab. 
  2. Upload a copy of your vaccine card or other proof of vaccination under the “Upload” tab. 

COVID vaccines are available at the Walgreens on campus. For vaccine help, Wisconsin residents can call the COVID-19 Vaccine Assistance Hotline at (844) 684-1064. Milwaukee County also created HealthyMKE, a COVID-19 vaccine resource website.

Gov. Evers launches $100 COVID-19 vaccine reward program to encourage Wisconsinites to get vaccinated
On Aug. 23, Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced that Wisconsin residents who receive their first dose of any COVID-19 vaccine from a Wisconsin provider between Aug. 20 and Sept. 6 can collect a $100 Visa gift card. Wisconsinites ages 12 and older are eligible for the reward, and proof of insurance, I.D., or citizenship are not required to be eligible for the vaccine or to receive the $100 reward.
