A joint statement from the chairs of University Academic Senate and University Staff Senate on COVID-19 vaccinations

As we look ahead to the beginning of the fall semester, we know we are making progress down this bumpy path toward a future without the threat of COVID lurking. We greatly look forward to being together again as a community.

At the same time, we are concerned about the growing rates of COVID-19 in the Milwaukee community and the rapid spread of the Delta variant. We encourage faculty and staff to get vaccinated, if they are able to do so, and upload their vaccination cards to the Marquette University Medical Clinic Patient Portal as soon as possible.

We hope with the commitment of all faculty, staff and students, we can get through this coming academic year safely. We are inspired that, even though the vaccination rate for 18-24 year-olds nationally is at about 45%, more than 90% of Marquette students enrolled for fall 2021 are vaccinated. And remember, there are incentives and giveaways throughout August for any faculty and staff member who submits or has already submitted their proof of vaccination! Yay for prizes!

If you still need to upload your proof of vaccination, you should do so at mymedicalclinic.mu.edu — it only takes a minute or two. Once you’ve logged into the portal, you will need to enter your vaccine dates under the “Immunizations” tab and upload a copy of your vaccine card or other proof of vaccination under the “Upload” tab.

By working together, we can make this academic year a safe and successful one.

Best,
