Marquette to follow Milwaukee Health Department guidance on masking indoors

In alignment with guidance from the City of Milwaukee Health Department, Marquette University strongly advises everyone, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask when indoors with people outside of their household, beginning Monday, Aug. 2. The full Health Department guidance is online.

Mask wearing will continue to be required in campus health care settings, including on-campus clinics, and in all modes of public transportation including Marquette LIMOs.

The university advises anyone, regardless of vaccination status, who experiences symptoms of COVID-19 to stay home, self-isolate and get tested. Unvaccinated individuals who come into close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 should quarantine for 14 days and get tested. Vaccinated individuals who come into close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 do not need to quarantine, but should monitor for symptoms for 14 days. Individuals with a positive COVID-19 test are asked to fill out the voluntary disclosure form to aid in contact tracing.

The university will continue to monitor the Milwaukee Health Department’s guidance regarding COVID-19 mitigation. For more information, visit the university’s COVID-19 website.
