The O’Brien Fellowship in Public Service Journalism will host an evening of film and conversation on Monday, May 17, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Register online. The virtual event is free.
Filmmaker Ade Osinubi will screen her short film, “Partum.” The film is part of Osinubi’s documentary project called “Black Motherhood Through the Lens.” Following the screening, we’ll hear from Wisconsin-based birth workers about how new parents are faring amid COVID-19, police violence and a prolonged period of isolation, grief, anxiety and fear.
The event will focus on how we can better support families during the postpartum period.
With questions, contact Ashley Nguyen, independent journalist and 2020-21 O’Brien Fellow.
