From Dr. Xavier Cole: Last Mental Health Day of the semester is Wednesday

Students,

We’ve made it! The semester is nearly complete, and I’m so proud of all you have accomplished.

Wednesday, May 5, is the last Mental Health Day. There are no classes scheduled on this day. Please take full advantage of the day to unwind before final projects and exams. We have much to celebrate, having weathered the pandemic to this point.

*Please note that these Mental Health Days do not apply to students in the Law School or School of Dentistry. Health Sciences Professional Program students should contact their instructors or program directors for more information on their specific breaks.

As you gear up for final exams, projects and papers, I know this can be a particularly stressful time for students. Please make sure to take breaks, eat proper meals and get enough sleep. It’s important to take care of yourself so that you’re prepared for these last few critical weeks of the semester.

Of course, how you choose to spend your Mental Health Day is up to you – you may go for a walk with a friend, or maybe you plan to attend one of the many “MU Staycation” events, such as mini golf, therapy animals, ziplining and Late Night breakfast. See the full list of events and sign up here.

I hope you enjoy your last week of classes and good luck on finals next week! I wish you all a safe summer.

Sincerely,

Dr. Xavier A. Cole
Vice President for Student Affairs
