The College of Nursing’s Equity and Inclusion Committee will host a presentation on “Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias” (ADRD) on Friday, April 9, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Register online.
Gina Green-Harris, MBA, director of the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute’s Milwaukee office, will discuss the following topics:
- ADRD in terms of how communities of color are disproportionately affected
- The chronic issues and social determinants of health that increase its risk in communities of color
- How systemic bias impacts patients’ access to support services and ADRD research participation
- Strategies used to address ADRD disparities
