The College of Business Administration and Versiti Blood Center will host a blood drive in the David Straz Hall atrium on Thursday, March 25, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The drive will honor the memory of Dr. Joe Daniels, former dean of the college who passed away tragically last year.
In January of 2006, Dr. Daniels was diagnosed with Stage Four Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. His treatment protocol was aggressive and frequent. Midway through the treatment, he was hospitalized with a virus, and needed two blood transfusions. By May of 2006, he was declared cancer free. As he battled this disease, Dr. Daniels received so much love and support from his Marquette Family of colleagues and students. Whenever he was asked “What can we do to help?” He responded, “Give Blood!”
Students can sign up to volunteer. If someone has received the COVID-19 vaccine, there is a full two-day referral. For example, if you received your vaccination on Monday, you are eligible to donate on Thursday.
With questions, contact Julia Tavares.
