Taizè prayer services will be held Tuesdays throughout the spring semester beginning in March.
All are welcome to participate in the evenings of quiet prayer, silence and meditative song.
Prayer service dates and times include:
- Tuesday, March 2, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the Church of the Gesu
- Tuesday, April 13, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the Church of the Gesu
- Tuesday, May 4, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the Church of the Gesu
Modeled after the style as practiced in the Taizé community in France, Taizé prayer is filled with song, scripture and silent meditation. The ecumenical form of prayer is meant to bring profound peace and tranquility to those who participate.
Participants are required to present their completed COVID-Cheq, wear a face mask and are required to practice social distancing. Enter via the east entrance of the church.
Sign up for a spot at the prayer service.
Those with questions should contact Thomas Koester, director of liturgical music.
