‘Stolen Babies of Spain’ film screening and Q&A is Feb. 22

The Center for the Advancement of the Humanities, the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, and the Diederich College of Communication will host a virtual screening of the film “Stolen Babies of Spain” on Monday, Feb. 22, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

This event will focus on the transatlantic fights for justice on behalf of children stolen from the maternity hospitals during Franco’s dictatorship in Spain and during Spain’s transition to democracy and beyond. 

The timeline for the event is:

  • 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. | An interdisciplinary discussion panel featuring: 
    • Dr. Laura Matthewassociate professor of history 
    • Uriel Lopez, graduate assistant for Trinity Fellows Program 
    • Michael Turcios, Mitchem Fellow 
    • Dr. Tim McMahonassociate professor of history 
  • 5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. | Film screening “Stolen Babies of Spain”  
  • 7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. | Q&A with director Greg Rabidoux and producer Mara Lencina, both Marquette alumni.
