Campus Ministry will host a “Soup with Substance” event on Wednesday, Feb. 24, from noon to 1 p.m. via Microsoft Teams.
The event will focus on “Reimagining the Role of the University in Decarceration.” Specifically, attendees will learn about:
- The Education Preparedness Program (EPP), an initiative through the Center for Urban Research Teaching and Outreach (CURTO) that provides high impact educational opportunities to Marquette undergraduate students and individuals who are currently and/or formerly incarcerated (CFIs), as well as wrap-around academic support to CFI students enrolled in EPP.
- Wisconsin Decarceration Platform (WDP) is a community-led digital platform that links the efforts of service providers in the re-entry space with those of educational institutions, and that makes comprehensive resources accessible to CFI individuals in a singular space.
