Back in June, a group of volunteers made up of Marquette faculty, alumni and students joined forces with the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and other volunteers to brainstorm ways to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
When the prospect of a COVID-19 vaccination came to the forefront, the team, with expertise in biomedical engineering and computer science, set their sights on finding a way to assist patients and health institutions with the rollout of the vaccine.
What they came up with is a tool called “MassVaxx” — a free computer application designed to aid health departments as the COVID-19 vaccination becomes available, by streamlining the patient registration and vaccination process.
