Today is the deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail; Know your polling place

October 29, 2020

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is today, Thursday, Oct. 29. Voters can request an absentee ballot by visiting myvote.wi.gov.

To ensure your vote is counted, do not mail in your ballot at this point. Instead, drop it off at a ballot drop-off site (visit the Milwaukee Election Commission website to find a site near you).

Important: A completed absentee ballot must be turned in no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3. Also note that ballot boxes will close at 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

NOTE: Absentee ballots must be deposited in ballot boxes before 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Non-partisan student ‘walking buddies’ are available for early voting through this Friday, Oct. 30. Learn more on Marquette Today.

Visit marquette.edu/vote for more information.

Know your polling place

For a list of polling locations for those who have a campus address, visit the Marquette Voter Information website. Be aware that due to COVID-19, polling locations in the City of Milwaukee are subject to change. If you plan to vote in-person, be sure to verify your polling location a few times before voting on the City of Milwaukee’s website.

How to get a Marquette voter ID card:
Current Marquette students who meet the eligibility requirements to vote in Wisconsin can apply for a Marquette voter ID card at Union Station (located in the lower level of the AMU).

Students must present their current valid Marquette student ID to obtain a voter ID card.

Union Station hours for fall 2020:

  • Monday — Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Election Day, Nov. 3:  7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
