New Economic Planning website serves as information hub for academic, operational planning

To provide ongoing updates and transparent information about Marquette’s academic and operational planning to address the significant financial challenges the university faces, a new Economic Planning website has been developed to serve as an information hub for the campus community.

The site, which is available on campus and via VPN at marquette.edu/economic-planning, features news and updates, upcoming and recorded virtual events, frequently asked questions, a “rumors vs. reality” page to correct misinformation, and an overview of the university’s workstreams and workgroups, including the faculty and staff from around campus who are involved in each group and the goals and strategies identified by each group.

University-wide collaboration, innovation and Ignatian discernment will be key to planning for Marquette’s successful future. To address this, the university developed workstreams and workgroups in eight key areas across campus to create a path to structural, strategic change. Those workstreams include: Academic Planning, Administrative Organization, Athletics, Campus Space, Discretionary Spending, Employee Benefits, Non-academic core and a new workstream dedicated to Revenue Generation.

Led by President Michael R. Lovell and Dr. Jeanne Hossenlopp, vice president for research and innovation, the new Revenue Generation workstream, will address ideas and strategies on revenue generation both in the short- and long-term. The workstream will seek input and collaboration with various units on campus including the President’s Office, University Advancement, the Office of Economic Engagement, and the Office of Research and Innovation.

The website will be updated regularly as new information is available; please watch the site and Marquette Today.
