Milwaukee’s own NŌ STUDIOS, a collaborative workspace and social community that offers an environment for artists and art lovers to come together, will host its Social Justice Summit virtually this year, Friday, Oct. 16, through Sunday, Oct. 18.
As a sponsor of the summit, Marquette encourages all students, faculty and staff to participate in one or more of the many events happening throughout the weekend.
Through panels, film screenings, live music performances and more, the summit will seek to honor the lived experience of marginalized communities, while connecting to the current movement’s youth energy, multicultural participation and contemporary technology.
All programming will take place virtually due to COVID-19.
Events will explore the following topics:
- Voter suppression
- The role of social media in protest and retaliation
- Community and policing
- Activism and advocacy for social change
