Students advised to temporarily avoid Gesu Masses and instead attend other on-campus Masses due to COVID-19 protocols

Due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols students should not attend Mass at Gesu until further notice.

While physically located on Marquette’s campus, Gesu is also an independent parish with members outside of the Marquette community. For this reason – and for the safety of students and Gesu parishioners – students should temporarily avoid attending Mass at Gesu and instead attend the following virtual and in-person Mass offerings in the Chapel of the Holy Family in the AMU:

In-person Mass opportunities (with online sign-up):

Sundays | Chapel of the Holy Family in the AMU

  • 11 a.m.
  • 6 p.m.
  • 9 p.m.

Weekdays | Chapel of the Holy Family

  • Noon — Monday, Wednesday, Friday
  • 10 p.m. — Tuesday, Thursday

In order to attend in-person, you must sign up ahead of time and follow COVID-19 health protocols, including wearing a mask. Read the full guidelines on Campus Ministry’s website.

In addition to the Campus Ministry Masses listed above, students can tune into Gesu’s Tuesday and Thursday noon Masses, and the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass via livestream on Campus Ministry’s Facebook page.

By adhering to this temporary request, Marquette is doing its part to slow the spread of the virus. Both Gesu Parish and Marquette University look forward to when pandemic restrictions are lifted and all can once again safely attend Mass at Gesu.

Marquette University Campus Ministry is currently working to expand Mass offerings for students. Thank you in advance for your patience as Marquette works through the challenges posed by COVID-19 / in-person gathering limitations.

The Campus Ministry Mass schedule is up to date and it will be updated if anything changes.

The Mass of the Holy Spirit will still be held at Gesu as scheduled for Sept. 13.

With questions, contact Rev. Grant Garinger, S.J., liturgical coordinator.
