Register for the ‘COVID Innovation Contest’ by Oct. 13

The Opus College of Engineering will host a COVID Innovation Contest asking teams to “Reimagine Life on Campus with COVID” from Wednesday, Oct. 14, through Sunday, Oct. 18.

COVID-19 has drastically changed learning environments for universities. Common spaces usually bustling with group activities are restricted to individual work, labs have less energy and collaboration, classrooms are masked up, virtual meetings are inorganic, and students, faculty and staff are isolated.

The COVID Innovation Contest poses the question, “How do we actively and collaboratively learn while remaining safe in the COVID-19 world?” The pathways to a solution – virtual, physical or psychological – are endless. Students, faculty, staff and alumni are encouraged to submit ideas.

Teams will have four days to create a solution for the challenge. A preliminary review of ideas will be held on Friday, Oct.16, and teams will pitch their solutions to a panel of expert judges on Sunday, Oct. 18.

Register by Tuesday, Oct. 13. Learn more on the Opus College of Engineering website.
