Listening sessions to be held with artist for new campus mural, Sept. 25

Marquette community members will have the opportunity to speak with winning artist Mauricio Ramirez about the new campus mural celebrating diversity and equity. 

A series of conversations will take place via Microsoft Teams on Friday, Sept. 25: 

  • 10 a.m. 
    • Topic: Community engagement / programming / paint day 
  • 11:30 a.m. 
    • Topic: Oral history project focused on Marquette BIPOC (black, Indigenous and people of color) female alumni 
  • 1 p.m. 
    • Topic: General discussion and feedback 

Register for the conversations via Eventbrite. In the interest of facilitating meaningful dialogue, each session will be limited to 20 participants. An extra session will be added if needed. A link to the join will be sent after you register. 

Feedback shared during these sessions will inform the final mural design and related programs. Jacki Black, associate director for Hispanic initiatives, will moderate the conversations.
