The Marquette community mourns the loss of recent alumnus Erik Olson, who passed away unexpectedly on July 27.
Olson was a business student actively involved in the Applied Investment Management Program (AIM). In fall 2019, he earned a bachelor of science in business administration with a focus in finance and economics.
“Erik was a special person. I came to know him well and admired his honesty and wit; he was a joy to be around. I know everyone who spent time with Erik is deeply saddened by the news. He will be missed by all of us in the AIM program, the College of Business and Marquette University,” said Dr. David Krause, director of AIM and associate professor of practice.
A visitation will take place this Thursday, Aug. 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dieterle Memorial Home (1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church (120 S. Lancaster Ave, Aurora, IL). A burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. Due to current restrictions, all attendees must follow social distancing guidelines and wear a mask. Attendees are also asked to be patient as there will be a limited amount of guests allowed in the chapel at a time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Olson’s honor to either of the following organizations:
