The Marquette Advancement team raised $95.3 million in new gifts and confirmed pledges in fiscal year 2020, surpassing its $90 million FY20 goal. The university’s generous donors have contributed $200 million over the past two fiscal years. Since the pandemic emerged, the team made considerable progress in securing student emergency funds with more than $500k secured in immediate use financial aid relief to benefit students experiencing economic hardships. Of the $95.3 million, $43.1 million was raised in support of scholarships, $33.5 million of which was via endowed funds to impact students in perpetuity.
“As we continue to cultivate relationships with our valued alumni, parents, partners and friends, I am also inspired by the significant contributions made from our partners across campus,” said Vice President for University Advancement Tim McMahon. “Philanthropic investments are making an impact at Marquette in many ways, from providing scholarships, to supporting our world-class faculty and coaches, to bolstering resources throughout our academic disciplines and helping to fund innovative programs in every corner of the university.”
McMahon shared that the university is continuing preparations to publicly launch its comprehensive campaign this fall.
