As a part of the COVID-19 Research Initiative, a webinar titled “How to conduct culturally sensitive research” will take place Thursday, July 16, at 10 a.m.
The webinar will discuss the importance of conducting culturally sensitive research, utilizing humility in relationship building, considering how knowledge production occurs and the importance of broadening understanding of the term “expertise” beyond the university. Panelists will discuss their own research and the processes by which they go about engaging communities in Milwaukee and beyond.
The webinar will be moderated by Sameena Mulla, associate professor of social and cultural sciences. Panelists will include:
- Heather Hlavka, associate professor of social and cultural sciences
- Ed de. St. Aubin, associate professor of psychology
- Gabe Velez, assistant professor of educational policy and leadership
