COVID-19 UPDATES: University working with Milwaukee Health Department on plans for fall instruction; new city of Chicago travel guidance

As a follow-up to the university’s message last week around Marquette’s plans for fall instruction, we wanted to let you know that university leaders are actively engaged in discussions with the Milwaukee Health Department officials to receive approval for in-person instruction this fall. While details are not yet available, we have had productive conversations with the Milwaukee Health Department and anticipate announcing our fall 2020 plans next week.

Wisconsin added to Chicago Emergency Travel Order
Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Allison Arwady, M.D., issued an Emergency Travel Order directing travelers entering or returning to Chicago from states experiencing a surge in new COVID-19 cases to quarantine for a 14-day period from the time of last contact within the identified state. This includes both Chicago residents returning from travel to a designated state, and travelers arriving in Chicago from a designated state. Effective Friday, July 31, Wisconsin is included in this emergency order.
