From President Lovell: Please join me! Virtual Mass tonight; Town Hall next week

May 12, 2020

Dear Marquette community,

I wanted to bring attention to two events taking place tonight and next Tuesday.

As this most unusual semester draws to a close, our Office of Mission and Ministry has organized a special Tuesday Night Mass to honor our graduating seniors tonight at 10 p.m. It will be live streamed from St. Joan of Arc Chapel on both Facebook and Instagram. I will be joining a few of our dedicated staff and Jesuits to participate in the Mass and offer a special blessing for our senior class. I hope that many of you will join me for this celebration.

We’re also looking forward to discussing our university’s future with another COVID-19 Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, May 19, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The virtual meeting will be open to faculty, staff and students. To join the online event, you’ll need to register ahead of time.

Like the May 1 COVID-19 Town Hall, which welcomed more than 1,300 participants, you’ll be able to submit questions in advance for the May 19 Town Hall and also ask questions during the meeting. The May 19 event will be more focused than the last and will provide an update on our recovery planning process – specifically how it connects with the state’s Badger Bounce Back plan – our processes for a phased return to work, and facilities considerations related to de-densifying, physical distancing and sanitization.

I look forward to your participation in these important events.

Best,

Dr. Michael R. Lovell
President
