University launches diversity, equity and inclusion training pilot for first year students

Marquette recognizes the importance of a vibrant diverse university community and provides multiple educational avenues for students to deepen the knowledge and skills critical to creating an inclusive learning environment.

In direct response to student feedback, the university is launching a pilot diversity, equity and inclusion online training for first year students later this month. The 45-minute online course is administered by EVERFI and introduces students to key concepts of identity, bias, power, privilege and oppression. The course also helps students understand the benefits of being part of a diverse community and establishes the importance of ally behavior, self-care and creating inclusive spaces.

First year students will receive more information and a link to access the online course in their Marquette email later this month.
