Two Marquette women named to Milwaukee Rep’s list of ‘SHEroes’

Earlier this week, the Milwaukee Repertory Theater announced its list of “SHEroes.” A SHEroe is a woman of color who exemplifies the values of dedication to one’s community, collaboration and sisterhood. The Rep received more than 100 nominations, which an outside selection committee including Milwaukee Rep employees and community members, picked the following 12 candidates honored as Milwaukee SHEroes. All 12 women are doing their part to better the Milwaukee community.

Of the 12 women who were named Milwaukee SHEroes, two come from Marquette:

Dr. Lisa Edwards, professor and director of counselor education in the College of Education; coordinator of Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program; and a 2018 Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Faculty Award recipient.

All SHEroes will be honored during the run of the play “Eclipsed” at The Rep, March 3-29.
