The university encourages all leaders to take time to provide thoughtful feedback that helps employees improve their performance. 2019 Employee Engagement Survey results revealed that while employees value feedback, that feedback seems to vary based on the department/leader.
Taking the time and effort to thoughtfully reflect on and discuss an employee’s performance demonstrates a manger’s commitment to an employee as a university leader. A performance review sets aside dedicated time to have meaningful and constructive dialog that provides employees with relevant, specific and timely feedback on performance strengths and opportunities for improvement.
Human Resources has extended the annual performance review completion timeline by one month. Completed and signed performance appraisals are due to HR between April 1 and May 31.
In an effort to create a more standardized consistent process for everyone, the following resources are available on the HR website:
- Performance appraisal guidelines
- Performance appraisal process outline
- Answers to frequently asked questions
- Performance appraisal forms
Additionally, the spring GROW program has sessions to assist all employees with facilitation of the performance review process.
Please note: University Advancement will continue with its regular process and timelines.
