English professor receives award for book about emergency medical communication

Dr. Elizabeth L. Angeli, assistant professor of English, received an award from the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) honoring her book, Rhetorical Work in Emergency Medical Services: Communicating in the Unpredictable Workplace.

Grounded in a 16-month study in the emergency medical services (EMS) workplace, Angeli’s book explores how to utilize rhetoric to make decisions and communicate in unpredictable contexts.

The CCCC is a constituent organization within the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).

Angeli will accept the award for “Best Book in Technical or Scientific Communication” at the CCCC’s Annual Convention in Milwaukee on Friday, March 27. This award recognizes authors in six categories, including:

  1. Best Book in Technical or Scientific Communication
  2. Best Original Collection of Essays in Technical or Scientific Communication
  3. Best Article Reporting Qualitative or Quantitative Research in Technical or Scientific Communication
  4. Best Article Reporting Historical Research or Textual Studies in Technical or Scientific Communication
  5. Best Article on Philosophy or Theory of Technical or Scientific Communication
  6. Best Article on Pedagogy or Curriculum in Technical or Scientific Communication
