Residence Life selected for social justice research study

The Office of Residence Life was recently selected as one of four schools to participate in “The Experiences of Resident Advisers Facilitating Social Justice Interactions in the Residential Curriculum Model”, a grant-funded research study through the Association of College and University Housing Officers – International (ACUHO-I).

The study will be conducted by two representatives from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs:

  • Dr. Patty Witkowsky, assistant professor and the program coordinator for the Student Affairs in Higher Education program
  • Dr. Megan Bell, director of assessment, policy and efficiency for the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance; executive director of community learning and assessment

Dr. Witkowsky and Dr. Bell will travel to Marquette to conduct focus groups with resident assistants to learn more about their experiences in conducting social justice conversations with residential students through the residential curriculum in the Office of Residence Life.

Results of the study will be shared publicly, including a webinar and publication in the Journal of College and University Student Housing
