In collaboration with the Office of Mission and Ministry, Marquette’s Office of Marketing and Communication (OMC) received a district gold award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for its creative work to promote Mission Week 2019.
OMC won the Pride of CASE V Award for “Excellence in Special Events, Invitations and Collateral Materials.” The theme, “Open to your life’s purpose,” featured vividly colored butterflies throughout campus. The butterfly design element was chosen because it has long been a symbol of transformation, and the opening of its wings upon emergence represents the beauty of a mind opened to life’s purpose.
“We are quite honored by this award as our creative team worked diligently to truly elevate awareness of Mission Week with the ‘butterfly’ theme,” said Tom Pionek, assistant vice president of marketing. “The butterflies around campus were meant to show both the beauty and power of reflection and remind us all that finding or living one’s purpose is one of the most valuable gifts of the Marquette experience.”
Each year, Mission Week invites the campus community to participate in opportunities throughout the week to listen to inspirational speakers, participate in service, pray, worship, reflect and to take time for silence each day.
CASE District V annually recognizes excellence in the district, which includes schools in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. The Pride of CASE V Awards showcase best practices in alumni relations, fundraising, advancement services, special events and outstanding communications. Experts from all disciplines outside of District V judge the entries.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education is the global association for professionals in advancement—alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and advancement services—who share the goal of championing education to transform lives and society.
