Looking back on May’s wellness events

Poker Walk

The Poker Walk, held Wednesday, May 24, was a moment to celebrate the start of summer, Attendees were joined by special guests Blue, Iggy and friends from the Marquette Child Care Center. The event was facilitated by a collection of sponsors who helped organize the event and provided prizes and giveaways, including Rec Sports, Employee Resource Groups, Staff Senate, Human Resources/Employee Wellness, Sodexo, Athletics and the Haggerty Museum.

Fit2Be Cancer Free Challenge

The Fit2Be Cancer Free Challenge concluded on Thursday, May 18. During the 24-hour CEO challenge, President Michael R. Lovell finished in first place for distance moved, with 50.93 miles traveled.

Marquette finished third in average distance per day, with 4.87 miles per day per participant. The university also finished sixth in average steps per participant at 8,822 steps per day.

Track your steps in the My Wellness portal manually or automatically via a fitness tracker. Earn one point a day for 8,000 or more steps. Track your participation in the Poker Walk as a Marquette Wellness Experience for 10 points and participation in the Fit2Be Cancer Free Challenge as an External Wellness Experience in the portal for 10 points.
