Marquette University mourns the loss of Rev. G. Simon (Si) Harak, S.J., who passed away on Sunday, Nov. 3, at the age of 71.
Father Harak was the founding director of the Center for Peacemaking and a member of the Jesuit community for six years before retiring in 2013. Harak entered the Society of Jesus on Sept. 5, 1970, at Weston College in Massachusetts. He was ordained on June 9, 1979, in the Chapel of St. Joseph at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. He pronounced his final vows in the Fairfield Jesuit Community Chapel in Connecticut on April 14, 1991.
Harak is survived by his brother, Dr. Philip Harak, and sister, Laurice Boutagy, as well as his many Jesuit brothers. Please remember Father Harak, his family and friends in prayer.
