The Center of Peacemaking and the Nonviolent Peaceforce will host “Stories of Resilience: Using nonviolence to protect refugees and the displaced” on Monday, Oct. 28, at 5 p.m. in the Raynor Memorial Libraries, Beaumier Suites BC.
Tiffany Easthom, executive director of the Nonviolent Peaceforce, will keynote. Easthom will discuss how NP builds peace through its work to protect civilians in violent conflict zones through unarmed strategies and its work with refugees and displaced peoples in Iraq, South Sudan, Myanmar and the Philippines.
Easthom will also speak on NP’s relationship with the United Nations in advocating for an adoption of unarmed civilian protection to safeguard human lives and dignity.
