The Division of Digital Learning, a new department within the Center for Teaching and Learning, will offer “Facilitating an Online Course” starting on Monday, Oct. 14.
The DDL was recently established to focus on developing new courses and programs for adult and nontraditional students in various formats, including online.
Facilitating an Online Course is six-week, online certification training course designed to provide participants the opportunity to explore best practices and theories related to teaching an online class. The course will model Marquette’s Distance Education Standards of Excellence.
The course runs Oct. 14 to Nov. 24, and requires a five to seven-hour time commitment per week. During weeks 1, 3, 5 and 6, the participant will work on assignments, discussions and other class work. Weeks 2 and 4 are “intermission” weeks designed to help balance workloads.
