As a part of the series “Conversations in Latin American Studies and Latinx Studies,” the Office of International Education and the Department of Latin American and Latinx Studies will host a presentation by Dr. Grant Silva, associate professor of philosophy, on Friday, Sept. 6, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the AMU, Room 157.
Silva will present his lecture titled “On the Epistemic Injustice of Colonization.” Silva specializes in social and political philosophy, Latin American philosophy, and the philosophy of race. His presentation is based on a long-term project on which he is working about the idea of liberation as a concept analogous to “enlightenment” in the context of Western thought.
The event is free and open to the public. Coffee and light snacks provided. With questions, contact Dr. Julia C. Paulk.
